Is definite wind
Is flax seed
spittle and long cool nights on the porch.
the plains stretched out till the dawn,
the thought of weather
and the soothe of cool ice and lemons.
drought summer in midcountry
where there are no secrets,
where the land has an open heart.
I see myself curled softly on the dry splinter wood boards of dinner hour,
dinner bells you lover, I need you now
make me new again,
make me over for tomorrow's
long cool plow field, long straight earth ripples--
seeds in my hand,
I'm scattering new dreams in the dry earth
and knowing the rain and the wind will move me
love you all
